Based on the popular YouTube video, “Shit Girls Say“
Video is set at a family dinner., shot from visual perspective of someone at the table. (We see her hands in the foreground, sometimes tapping the table, or reaching up in exasperation.)The REPUBLICAN is the typical Libertarian, Ron Paul loudmouth. He looks like Rick Gervais in the British office.
Shot with quick rhythmic style, crescendo pacing, utilizing repetition and jump cuts.Republican says things like:
“I worked for what I have” [cut] “Except for college, yes mother.”
“If everyone is really really selfish it’ll be good for all of us.”
“Your tapwater compromises my freedom.”
“I don’t care if they owned slaves, the founding fathers are the first and last word…”As the pace increases, cut back and forth between reality and REPUBLICAN wearing William Wallace war paint howling “FREEDOM!”

This is how he sees himself. We then cut back to how everyone else sees him. A loudmouth with food stuck in his goatee.
AnalysisTarget
The target of this video is young people who are inclined toward Ron Paul but would have gone for Obama last election (if they were old enough to vote). The video undermines the narrative of small government and makes viewers more open to at least some nuance.Promotion
Pure viral video. Designed to ride the ”Shit Girls Say” phenomenon variations of which have topped You Tube charts among 18-25 year olds.
Production
One location, one camera, one professional actor. Simple three point lighting will suffice, perhaps a soft-box indicating a window.

The William Wallace thing is great. It doesn’t hurt that you’re subtly linking the Republican to Mel Gibson … always a good way to insinuate batshittery.
